A New Chapter for Portland Psychedelic Society

May 19, 2026

Reflecting on a changing psychedelic landscape, the importance of community, and the next chapter of PPS at The Haven

Hi there!

It’s been a little while…

And we’ve missed you.

To be fair, with how fast and intense the world has felt lately, some of you may not have even noticed we got a little quieter for a few months. Behind the scenes, however, we’ve taken a season to reflect, restructure, rebuild, and reimagine what Portland Psychedelic Society is becoming and what our community most needs in this rapidly evolving moment.

Before anything else, we want to acknowledge and deeply appreciate the many volunteers, hosts, organizers, and community members who have continued showing up month after month to help steward our circles, meetups, and gatherings during this transitional season. While PPS may not have hosted as many large-scale public events recently, the heart of this community never disappeared.

People continued gathering…

Continued supporting one another.
Continued having difficult and meaningful conversations.
Continued doing the often quiet and deeply human work of integration and community care.

That continuity matters deeply to us.

In recent weeks, it’s been energizing to begin gathering in larger ways again through events like our Bicycle Day celebration on April 19th and the Mycelopause event on April 30. (Big shoutouts to Cascade Psychedelic Medicine and the Alberta Rose Theater, respectively). Seeing familiar faces reconnect, while also welcoming many new people into the community, has reminded us why this work matters so much.

At the same time, we continue to sense and feel that the broader psychedelic landscape continues to change rapidly. Over the past few years, we’ve witnessed expanding research, growing public awareness, shifting legislation, increasing media attention, and new national conversations around psychedelic therapies and consciousness exploration.

More people than ever are becoming curious about psychedelics and their potential impacts on mental health, healing, spirituality, creativity, and personal growth. And yet, amid all this momentum, one thing feels increasingly clear to us:

Access to information alone is not enough.

As psychedelics continue moving further into mainstream culture, people need trustworthy community spaces where they can ask questions honestly, learn responsibly, build meaningful relationships, and thoughtfully integrate these experiences into their lives.

We believe community itself is essential infrastructure.

In a time where many people feel increasingly disconnected, isolated, and overwhelmed, we believe creating spaces for authentic human connection matters more than ever. That understanding has deeply shaped the next chapter of PPS.

Introducing PPS Community Nights at The Haven

We’re excited to officially announce a new chapter for Portland Psychedelic Society and a new home for our recurring community programming:

The Haven (2505 NE Pacific St., Portland, OR)

The Haven PDX is an interdisciplinary art and wellness collective that brings together artists, healers, performers, changemakers, and other curious minds to foster an environment of collaboration, experimentation, and community. With over 40+ private art studios, a massive gallery situated in an open 10,000 sqft space, a non-alcoholic bar & café, community workspaces, and much more situated under one roof. We are beyond excited to join this vibrant and visionary community!

This is the first time in PPS history to have a consistent physical home for recurring gatherings and programs.

As we’ve grown over the years, we’ve learned that consistency matters. Familiar places matter. Seeing familiar faces matters. Community becomes stronger when people have recurring spaces where they can continue building trust, relationships, and shared culture over time.

Beginning this spring, PPS will be launching four recurring Wednesday night community programs designed to create a more welcoming, accessible, educational, and connected rhythm for our organization.

Advocacy Forum

1st Wednesdays (Every other month)

A space for thoughtful conversations around psychedelic policy, ethics, harm reduction, equitable access, and the future of the movement.

As psychedelic laws, research, and public conversations continue evolving, we believe community voices matter. The Advocacy Forum is designed to help people stay informed, engaged, and connected to the broader cultural and policy conversations shaping the future of psychedelics locally and nationally.

Education Program

Every 2nd Wednesday

Talks, workshops, and learning experiences featuring local educators, practitioners, researchers, facilitators, and community leaders.

Our goal is to create grounded, nuanced educational spaces that move beyond hype and create opportunities for meaningful dialogue, curiosity, and lifelong learning around psychedelics, consciousness, healing, spirituality, and human development.

Community Salon

Every 3rd Wednesday

A relaxed and welcoming community gathering space designed for conversation, creativity, collaboration, and authentic human connection.Part community living room, part social gathering, part cultural commons, the Community Salon is intended to be a place where people can simply come and be together.

Whether you want to meet new people, reconnect with familiar faces, share ideas, collaborate on projects, play games, explore meaningful conversations, or simply spend time in a thoughtful and welcoming environment, the Salon is designed to help foster the kinds of organic relationships and community experiences that are becoming increasingly rare in modern life.

There is no pressure to perform, no expectation to be an expert, and no requirement to arrive with a psychedelic story to share. Just people gathering together in real life. We believe spaces like that matter deeply right now.

Paths to Integration

Every 4th Wednesday

Programs focused on helping people thoughtfully integrate psychedelic experiences into everyday life through grounded practices, reflection, embodiment, skill-building, and supportive community dialogue. We believe integration is not simply about processing an experience intellectually. It is about learning how to create meaningful and sustainable changes in the way we relate to ourselves, one another, our communities, and the world around us.

Whether someone is completely new to psychedelics or has years of experience, these gatherings are designed to offer practical tools, shared wisdom, and supportive conversations rooted in real-life application.

Together, these anchor programs represent a shift toward more intentional, sustainable, and community-centered programming for PPS.

Launching May 27: Paths to Integration

We’re excited to officially launch this new chapter with our first public anchor event:

Paths to Integration featuring the Seven Realms Guidance Series

Wednesday, May 27 at The Haven - 6pm

This opening event begins a three-part series exploring frameworks for personal growth, integration, embodiment, and transformation in the context of psychedelic and consciousness work. Whether you are completely new to these conversations or have been part of this community for years, we hope these evenings offer practical tools, meaningful dialogue, and authentic connection.

Supporting Sustainable Community Infrastructure

As part of this new chapter, our recurring anchor programs at The Haven will be transitioning from primarily donation-based gatherings to a modest ticketed model.

For many years, PPS programming has operated largely through volunteer energy, grassroots support, and community donations. As we continue evolving, this shift is intended to help create greater sustainability and consistency for our programming, operational needs, and long-term community stewardship, while also helping support The Haven as a shared community space.

A New Look, Rooted in the Same Values

You may also notice that PPS has a new visual identity and updated brand presence.

As part of this next chapter, we felt it was time to create a more cohesive, modern, and intentional look that better reflects the organization we are continuing to grow into while still staying grounded in the core values and spirit that have shaped PPS since the beginning.

We’re incredibly grateful to OuterPsych Creative for helping bring this new vision to life through thoughtful design and creative collaboration. For us, this refresh is about more than aesthetics. It reflects an organization that is evolving, maturing, and building stronger foundations for the future while remaining deeply committed to community care, education, integration, and meaningful human connection.

Looking Ahead

As PPS continues evolving, our goal is not simply to host more events. It is to help cultivate a more grounded, connected, thoughtful, and community-centered culture around psychedelics and consciousness exploration.

We believe integration is not just an individual process. It is also relational. Cultural. Communal.

And as this movement continues growing, we believe the spaces where people gather together, build trust, and support one another may become just as important as the substances themselves.

In the months ahead, we’ll also be introducing a new Community Listings and Affiliate Partner Program designed to help uplift aligned facilitators, educators, and organizers throughout the broader ecosystem while creating more clarity around PPS-hosted programming.

More information on that initiative will be shared soon.

For now, we simply want to say THANK YOU.

Thank you to everyone who has supported PPS through its many chapters over the years. Thank you to the volunteers, donors, facilitators, board members, and community participants who have helped shape this organization into what it is today.

We’re excited for what’s ahead...

More grounded.
More intentional.
More connected.

And more committed than ever to creating spaces where people can come together, explore thoughtfully, and remember that none of us are meant to navigate these experiences alone.

We hope to see you at The Haven soon!
