Tips for a Safe Journey
We are a community dedicated to exploring the transformative potential of psychedelics in a safe and supportive environment.
Harm reduction is key.
Exploring one’s consciousness through altered states of perception comes with personal responsibilities and risks of harm. Psychedelic substances may not be appropriate for some people, or in certain situations and states of mind. Being aware and educated about these risks is necessary to keep yourself safe and to maximize the benefits of your psychedelic journey.
Know your source
Secure your psychedelics from a trusted, reliable provider. It is also wise to use a test kit to verify the purity of your substance and avoid unexpected compounds. Your safety and peace of mind are worth that extra moment of diligence.
Test kits can be found at dancesafe.org
Know your dosage
If trying a psychedelic for the first time, consider taking a small amount first to determine how it interacts with your system. Potency varies, as does individual tolerance. If you are taking other substances (prescription or otherwise) research potential interactions - some can be fatal!

Know set & setting
When taking perception-distorting psychedelics be sure you are mentally and emotionally prepared for the journey. The medicine may amplify your current mindset and internal stimuli. Arrange for a safe & comfortable location (many people choose to be in or near nature), as external stimuli may feel intense and saturated with meaning.
